Run For Your Life Summer Track Series @ Myers Park High School

Your favorite Summer Track Series is back at it for 2018! We’ll be meeting at Myers Park High School track for five Tuesdays in May and June to keep you at the top of your game!

RESULTS:

EVENTS:

– 50 Meter Dash (Kids 10 & Under Untimed Heats All 5 weeks)
– 100 Meter Dash (Kids 10 & Under Untimed Heats All 5 weeks)
– 1 Mile (1609 Meters)
– 4 x 100 (Kids 10 & Under Untimed Heat All 5 weeks)
– 400 Meters (Kids 10 & Under Untimed Heats All 5 weeks)
– 800 Meters
– 200 Meters (Kids Heats 10 & Under Untimed Heats All 5 weeks)
– 3200 Meters (except June 13)
– 5000 Meters (June 12 Qualifying and June 26 Championship)

FORMAT:

Qualifying May 29, June 5, 12, & 19 plus Open Heats June 26.
Championship Heats June 26. Except for the kid’s 10 & Under untimed heats, you must qualify in one of the first four weeks in order to run the Championship Heats June 26.

All adult heats will be timed and posted online. The top men’s and women’s times in each event from each week will automatically qualify for Championship Week as will the next four best men’s and women’s times from the first four weeks.

AWARDS:

All Kids 7 & Under will receive a ribbon for their effort.
Championship Week: All Men’s and Women’s event Champions will receive a medal.

The Men’s and Women’s winners in the Championship Mile will receive $100 cash so long as the following times are met: Men – sub 4:30; Women sub 5:15.

Season Pass:
– Kids 10 & Under Free for the Untimed Heats
– Adults $39 – Includes Championship Week and a tech tee while supplies last.
– Students $29 – Includes Tee while supplies last.

Single Week:
– Adults $10, Students $7

Course Preview – NewDominion American 4 Miler @ Run For Your Life - Midtown

A few of our team members our meeting at our Midtown shop Thursday mornings for course preview runs of our upcoming NewDominion Bank American 4 Miler presented by Novant Health course! Nothing fancy, just an early morning run to check out the new course for 2018. We’re excited about our new start/finish line as well as the rest of the race through the stunning Dilworth neighborhood! Who’s setting the course record this year?!

Since we’re staring from RFYL, we’ll have a 1/2 mile warmup as well a 1/2 mile cool down making the total run 5 miles. All paces are welcome, however be sure to look over the route to make sure you know your way just in case.

Stop into our University store to learn more about injury prevention from our seasoned staff. We’ll keep you on the road or trails longer by making sure you’re keeping your body healthy before and after your run.

We’ll have equipment for you to use and/or purchase, if needed. If you have any of injury prevention tools at home that you would like to learn more about, please bring them along. Workout attire is required.

Each participant will be video taped at various angles outdoors running.

Individualized film review & additional coaching of the “4 Points” of GFR will be done

Running faster, more efficiently, and injury free is what runners strive for. With a focus on proper mechanics, GOOD FORM RUNNING aims to help runners of all ages and abilities achieve these goals.

Please come dressed in running shoes and clothes. You will be running to practice form. Any further questions please ask any member of our staff. Limited Spots Available!
