BENEFICIARY

We partner with the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral to host this race and promote the Yiasou Greek Festival, the southeast largest cultural festival, hosted in September each year.   The Cathedral’s GOYA (Greek Orthodox Young Adults) come out on race day and volunteer, making sure everything runs smoothly. The mission of the Greek Orthodox Youth of America (GOYA) is to provide 6th through 12th graders the opportunity for fellowship, service, witness and worship with one another, and with other GOYA members throughout the Holy Metropolis of Atlanta, and from across the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

WHERE’S IT AT

COURSE
The Yiasou Greek Festival 5K is arguably Charlotte’s “flattest” 5K and has been a PR race for many runners!  Check out the 5K course map!

Have a child that’s working towards that 1 Mile distance?  Then check out our 1 Mile Fun Run Course as well!

DIRECTIONS
The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral is the host location for the race.  The street address is 600 East Boulevard, Charlotte.  For directions using Google Maps, click here and type in your starting address.

PARKING
Parking will be extremely limited at the Cathedral, so arrive early.  Once that fills you may park up East Boulevard at Kenilworth Commons or along the side streets of East Boulevard.  Please be mindful of the race route and avoid parking on streets along the course.

KID’S 1 MILE

DISTANCE
It is what it says it is – 1 Mile long (give or take a few feet depending on how you take your turns!) Check out the fully detailed Kid’s 1 Mile Fun Run course map!

REGISTRATION
There will be no race day registration for the Kid’s 1 Mile.  Make you sure you register your child online before online registration closes on 11:59pm on Thursday, August 24 or register your child in-store before in-store registration closes on Friday, August 68.  See Packet Pick-Up hours for hours.

MEET UP
Please be at the finish line, with your child, by 8:20am.  A member of our team will give the children instructions and lead them to the start line on East Boulevard.  We will make announcements from the finish line so that you don’t miss Tim.  Every kid that participates in the 1 Mile will receive a prize!
